Hey, how is your day going?
Well, I've had a great week! I took some time off to spend
with the family (which is why there was no newsletter last
week), as well as caught up on almost all of my overdue
projects.
Today's article is a pretty good one. It was thanks to one
of our subscribers' emails, so hopefully he'll get a chance
to read this and learn a little something :)
Some really great things coming up in the near future from
us at War On Marketing. I can't say what they are right
now, as I'm still in the testing phase, but if everything
stays as it is now, I'll have some really great stuff!
Apparently my website designer has forgotten who I am, and
that I am still waiting on a website to be
finished...hopefully I'll be able to let everyone see it
soon...if he decides to show back up!

Internet Marketing's Magic Bullet

I've had countless conversations, and had numerous
questions asked to me about the "magic bullet" of internet
marketing. So I wanted to take this opportunity to discuss
the ever elusive "magic bullet" of internet marketing. A
little story goes along, so just bear with me, and you'll
see that there really IS one...
I'm a big fan of magical illusions. A few years back, I saw
a magic trick that reminded me of this exact situation, so
I thought I'd share it with you.
For those of you into magic, you'll probably know this
particular trick. I saw it performed by Penn and Teller in
Las Vegas, Nevada.
It's the one where they stand a good distance apart, each
with a gun. They each ask a person from the audience to
draw or write something on the tip of a bullet, which is
then loaded into their respective guns.
They then aim at each other (using a laser sight), right at
the open mouth of the other. In between them is a plate of
glass.
To make a long story short, they fire the guns
simultaneuosly, shattering the plate of glass...and to the
audiences amazement, the each catch the bullet of the other
gun in their teeth.
At no point do they touch the bullet, nor do they ever get
close enough to be in contact with each other, yet there in
their teeth are the bullets, with the markings that the
audience members each made on them.
A rather long start to a pretty simple answer, there is
always a magic bullet!
You see, many major internet marketers will use the same
smoke and mirrors tricks that the magicians use.
So what is the magic bullet, you ask?
Well, the magic bullet is really different for everyone.
For some people, it's their list of customers, for others,
it's the unique selling proposition. Some people are simply
good at getting traffic, and that makes for a great magic
bullet.
The magic bullet is inside your mind, you just have to find
it. Whatever it is that you are good at, make that your
magic bullet. Whether it's your ability to write good ad
copy, or your ability to make phone calls to prospects, use
what you have available to it's fullest extent.
Of course, having just one of these magic bullets normally
isn't enough, but it's enough to get started. Once you've
found your area of expertise, it doesn't take much to go
out and find others who need what you have, in exchange for
what they have.
I may be good at writing ad copy, but can I get the traffic
I need? It's in my best interest to make sure that I find
someone who needs what I have, in exchange for what they
have.
I'm not saying that a joint venture is the magic bullet,
because that's not necessarily true. If you have nothing to
offer, will anyone take a second look at your proposition?
Of course not.
You have something to offer, even if you just haven't found
it yet. My advice: If you're truly serious about internet
marketing, your best ally is persistence. It took me two
years to get to the point I am at today...and I'm quite
happy with it!
You'll see progress as long as you're persistent. And by
that, I mean continue to learn, and experiment, not just
simply join programs, or buy products. If you aren't
continuing to put in work, it's almost a guarantee that
you'll get nothing out of it.
